Matrices
In the Real World
Any data that is organized in columns and rows can be represented as a matrix. Matrices are used to represent real-world data such as the habits, or traits of a population of people.
Greetings.. we have been taking matrices for a week now and knowing how to relate math to our daily life is an inspiring and a very interesting task made. This method is very alarming n makes us learn things faster..it has Never occured to me that statistics used by scientists geologists and economists is related to matrices...thank you Dr.Zeina for making it easier to understand..CHANTAL-MINERVA FOUAD HABIB(LEBANESE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY)

Those Articles you have posted online are really great!! Thanks for helping us understanding matrices by giving nice and useful examples. Matrices can represent any data that is organized in columns and rows in order to represent real world statistics. I personally find this blog very interesting and so useful... Thanks miss Zeina for allowing us to acquire knowledge from this blog.. Ramzi Nakhle
Thanks for the nice article I just checked it on google!I never thought that genetics and biology can be related to matices..this shows us that matrices are related to several real life situations that we never thought of..I found that it is even used by the U.S military for different codings..Thank you Dr. Zeina for showing us that mathematics can be so real! This method is much like Stuart Pugh's Decision matrix! Pugh Concept Selection is a quantitative technique used for ranking options. I loved it cause it's the most simple of all the other applications of Matrices in life. We practically use it without thinking!
One example of how matrices can be used is with encryption. When a programmer encrypts or codes a message, he can use matrices and their inverse. The internet function could not function without encryption, and neither could banks since they now use these same means to transmit private and sensitive data. I've read that many geologists make use certain types of matrices for seismic surveys. Matrices are also used in graphs and statistics for doing scientific studies in many other different fields. Matrices are used to calculate gross domestic product in economics, and thereby help in calculation for producing goods more efficiently. Matrices are also sometimes used in computer animation.
this is new...i didn't know that
ReplyDeletethis can make our life easier!!
Raed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL POST INDEED!!!!!! I love it!
Thanks,
Do not forget the 3 comments to other posts, ok?
Zeina
this post is very interesting. It really represents a real life application!!!
ReplyDeleteit's an easy way to make statistics!! and i simplified the complexe problem to a simple solution by a matrix..
ReplyDeleteGreetings..
