About us

Hello,

I am Zeina Nehme, math faculty member at NDU. I teach two sections of Linear algebra in Spring 2011.

Let me tell you a bit about myself:

I am lebanese canadian, lived abroad in many places (Alaska and New Mexico in the US, Montreal in Canada, and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia) and traveled around the globe quite a bit!

In 2004, I flew from Beirut to Alaska! lived there for three years (two years in Nome and one year in Fairbanks), and worked at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF).

I taught mathematics and Arabic language, face-to-face and online in the small rural and remote villages of northwest Alaska. In Nome, in addition to teaching at UAF, I taught in Nome high school, offering college credit courses to students, and taught in Nome prison as well. In Fairbanks, I was a research scholar, conducting research on distance education and providing training to UAF faculty members in the effective use of technology in teaching.

I am a Certified Online Instructor (COI).

From 2007 to 2009, I lived in Saudi Arabia and taught mathematics to Saudi female students in a private American University.
I am pursuing currently a Doctorate degree in Education offered jointly by NDU and SLU. Hence, I am a student as well!!!! :)

I believe in integrating technology effectively, even in a face-to-face classroom. I think that it enhances learning!

Well, tell me about you now! Let's get to know each other better!
